What information do you need for a quote?
The item's dimensions (L × W × H), weight, quantity, and whether it's shipping domestically or for export (and to which country). Also tell us how it will be handled and when you need it. Drawings, photos, or packaging specs help a lot, and you can attach a file to our contact form.
Are you ISPM 15 certified?
Yes. McConnell Enterprises is accredited by the Northeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association (NELMA) as a Certified Wood Packaging Materials Facility, #09697. The certification is renewed annually, and our export packaging carries the ISPM 15 mark.
Do I need ISPM 15 packaging?
If solid-wood packaging (crates, pallets, skids, blocking) is going out of the country, almost certainly yes. Most countries enforce ISPM 15. Domestic shipments generally don't need it. Your freight forwarder can confirm the destination's rules.
Do you deliver?
Yes. Nearly every order we build is delivered to the customer's facility. We deliver across York, Hanover, and Lancaster; Harrisburg and Central PA; Baltimore and Central Maryland; Delaware and the Philadelphia area; and Maryland's Eastern Shore. Outside that area? How long does a custom crate take?
Typical lead time is about two weeks, depending on the design, quantity, and our current schedule. If you're working to a tighter date, mention it in your message or call us and we'll tell you honestly what's possible.
Is there a minimum order?
No. We build single crates as well as larger orders. On small orders, freight charges may apply.
Do you build to military or government specifications?
Yes. We build wood crates and boxes to the military specifications called out on your contract or drawings, as they apply to wood crating. Send us the packaging requirements or drawings through our contact form.
Can you build to our drawings?
Yes. Attach your drawings or specs to the contact form, or call to discuss them.
Do you provide foam inserts and interior packaging?
Yes. We supply polyethylene and polyurethane foam sheets and custom die-cut foam inserts designed around your product, on their own or fitted inside the crates we build, along with our blocking and bracing. See Foam Inserts.
Do you supply corrugated boxes?
Yes. We supply custom-sized corrugated boxes and cartons, plus corrugated partitions/dividers, pads, and sheets, with no minimum. Most corrugated orders are short runs, but large orders are welcome too, and boxes can be delivered with your crate order. See Corrugated Boxes.
Can you build reusable crates?
Yes. Trade show and return-shipment crates can be built with removable lids and durable hardware for repeated use.
Do you build wooden parts bins?
Yes. We build wooden parts bins for warehouse pallet racking in our Airville, PA shop. Each unit stores up to 4 different items, which makes them an affordable way to organize a warehouse. See Wooden Parts Bins.
